Did you know what the full name for acne is? Acne vulgaris. Doesn't sound all that pleasant does it.

What causes acne? I'm glad you asked, apparently, acne is caused by changes in skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland. The acne lesions themselves are what people commonly refer to as pimples, spots, or zits.

Acne is said to directly affect more than 85% of teenagers. There are many acne treatments available, some that work, and some that don't do so well. As always, do your own research.
