Vanity, beauty and the golden bowl

Is it just me or is "bathroom vanity" a pretentious term? I mean to say, bathroom vanities cause me to immediately think of vain individuals primping and preening in front of the mirror in total wonderment of there on 'beauty'. Beauty is a myth people, deal with it! :p

Everyone knows that the most important part of any bathroom is the toilet, and that is hardly a place for vanity!
