The plane the plane

I've often thought about getting a tattoo. My problem is commitment. I might like the design today, but ask me in a week and I might hate it. Obviously that makes wonder if getting a tattoo is really for me. The other problem is, I'm not sure what real estate I'd be happy for it to permanently occupy on my body. Plus what happens if I become obese and I've put the tattoo on somewhere that will rapidly expand? Will this make the design look hideous? Great now I have a stinking headache.
