The leaky faucet

I'm of the opinion that leaking shower faucets are the bane of an insomniac's existence. Just when you think you are nodding off, that drip drip dripping starts to drill away at your brain. It's like head butting a water melon. Yeah, you can go and turn off the water at the mains, but that can get a little awkard when it comes time to flush the toilet. Of course, if you're an insomniac you'll probably have the extra time to play plumber and fix the leaky faucet.
