Teacher resigns after winning a date with a porn star

Here is an odd 'teaching' related news story. Apparently a Monessen High School teacher resigned after winning a date with a porn star during a radio contest.

Details of the story were posted on the First Coast News website:

"While listening to the "Bubba the Love Sponge" radio show on Sirius satellite radio, Biagini won the trip last month to St. Petersburg, Fla., to meet with porn star Akira."

Perhaps the strangest part of the story is the reason the prize winner gave for entering the competition.

"Biagini, who taught art for 14 years at the school, said he entered the contest because he wanted to win the free trip and visit the Salvador Dali museum in St. Petersburg. He described the date as being "all fake and staged."

As far as reasons to enter a "win a date with a porn star" competition goes, that sounds a lot like the good old "I only read it for the articles" defense.
