PS3 and HDMi
A friend of mine was recently lucky enough to pick up a Playstation 3. For the amount of money they cost, I would have assumed that they would come with the works, or at the very least, all the cables you need to hook it up.
Apparently that assumption isn't a fair one. Upon unpacking the box, we quickly found that there was no HDMi cable included. We then had to jump in the car and head back to the store to buy one. Moral of the story, the PS3 seems to be the present day equivalent of the remote control car you'd get at Christmas, without batteries.
So, check out HDMI switches and stuff.
