Free checking

When asked to provide my opinion on checking accounts, I'm a little stuck for words. To be honest, I'm not even sure what a checking account is? I do like the sound of free stuff though, and the WaMu site has Free Checking Accounts listed on their site. So if you're in the market for a checking account give them a look.
