Now, when FurnitureFromHome.com asked for an honest review of their site, I really hope they meant it.
The first thing I noticed about the site was that it was not immediately obvious who you where dealing with or where the furniture actually comes from. As a potential buyer, I really want to see that sort of thing up front, particularly when the products being sold are of significant value. Based on looking at the site, I'm not sure if it's an actual physical store or some kind of 'drop shipping' operation.
The other thing that I noticed was that the content pages are long and image heavy. Whilst there is a lot of good stuff there, it gets a bit lost due to the sheer volume of products on the page. The number of products per page really needs to be limited to a fewer number to better showcase the products and improve page load times.
The counter height dinette page is a better example of a shorter page, that should definitely be used more.
As a general comment the design and layout of the site appears quite dated. Perhaps a new design is required to create a bit more interest in the products offered. A slick professional design may also give potential consumers more confidence in the company as a whole. In my opinion, when I see a site that has a dated feel such as this one, I find myself asking two questions. 1. Is the company still in business, or is this site a relic that has remained online even though the company shut its doors years ago? 2. Is this a professional outfit or a backyard operation?
I would also suggest that if they want a wider range of reviews, they consider either increasing the offer price or decreasing the number of links required in the post, as I'm sure a majority of posties find this off putting.
So there you have it, an honest review of FurnitureFromHome.com.
